Irvin Yalom, the American humanist-existentialist psychologist, comments on how the fear of death drives us towards a fuller life.

I am increasingly interested in existential pscyhotherapy and its emphasis on the meanings people create of their lives. Victor Frankl, founder of logotherapy, managed to create a sense of meaning whilst experiencing the horrors of the concentration camp. Surely I should be able to do the same in my mundane, everyday life?
"We are trapped between life and death. Any choice we make is within these parameters."
